I grew up here in Manuel Antonio. I know everyone, and places you’d never find unless you were a local. I am an adventure tour guide, a surfing and SUP instructor, a lifeguard, and a proud Airbnb host. I love meeting new people and traveling myself, and sharing my culture and passion for nature. My motto is “The best way to share is with food!”, so Hasta la Pasta!Connect Via Facebook
What Lessons Do I Offer?
All my sessions are conducted with good Tico energy, and with the safety of a qualified lifeguard. I offer a selection of surf lessons, from beginner to advanced. With 7 years experience as a teacher in Manuel Antonio, you will learn how to catch your waves and learn about the different techniques to approach them.
Starting with a full explanation in the shade of the palm trees, I’ll explain the different techniques; how to lay on the board, how to paddle and how to stand up, the do’s and the don’ts to keep you safe, and the rules and safety procedures of being in the water. Then we hit the waves for 2 or 3 hours (depending on how much you can handle!), where I will patiently remind and instruct you to make sure you have a successful and enjoyable session. I guarantee that after the session you’ll have a strong base for your future surf trips. All equipment included: boards for different levels (from soft boards to fiberglass), video footage on a gopro and sunscreen. There’s no age limit and we accept absolute beginners, so everyone is welcome!
Conducted in quiet, safe waters in a local bay, far away from the tourist crowds and boats, and with stunning jungle surroundings. We use soft beginner stand up paddle boards. We start with a full explanation on the beach before we hit the water. We’ll cover safety, how to enter the water, how to stand and balance, and how to use the paddle. Lessons are led by a patient, lifeguard trained instructor, and last up to 2 hours depending on what you can handle!I also offer tours for people who already have experience with the board, see below.
With 24 years living in Manuel Antonio, using my local knowledge, I can show you some unique hiking routes, the best reefs for snorkeling, and the quietest bays for kayaking and SUP. This is the most thrilling way to safely experience Costa Rica off the beaten track.
3 hour coastal hike between Quepos town and Manuel Antonio exploring the uncrowded local beaches. Learn about trees, plants, wildlife and the Costa Rican approach to nature. Snacks and refreshments are included!
Kayak + Snorkeling or SUP + Tour
These all take place in the bay of Punta Quepos, which provides us with warm, clear and calm water, the ideal conditions to cruise on a kayak, see the marine wildlife, and explore the wild rugged coast with an SUP.
There are many beautiful waterfalls in Costa Rica. We can hike to the local ones in wet season, or we can drive to the bigger ones year round. This is a half day excursion that includes visiting different towns & exploring the local lifestyle, food, and activities.
Airbnb Surf Lodge
Located 3km from the Manuel Antonio park, beach break, and surf spots, I have a house with a spacious common room and areas to host easy going travelers. This is a safe place with a parking lot, family ambience, no parties, no drugs, and we all cook and eat healthy.
This is definitely the place to make your base to enjoy the nature, wildlife and the beauty of Manuel Antonio, and to start or to continue your surfing journey.
